Columns

From the majestic Greco-Roman temples, through the Neoclassical and Renaissance eras, the marvellous art of columns has reached us. Their purpose was to support and at the same time decorate the great places of worship to honour the deities.

A quintessential symbol of classical architecture, columns are composed of three elements: the base, the shaft, and the capital. The inclusion of columns has always made any environment refined and elegant.

Our plaster columns are a non-load-bearing decorative element: they are used to visually support arches and architraves; to clad existing masonry columns or semi-columns; to create bookcases; to divide spaces or as supports for shelves, small tables, and consoles.

Internally reinforced and fibre-enhanced to guarantee lasting quality, our plaster columns are produced by casting and can be fully customised in size, diameter, finish, and composition.

The base, traditionally square in shape, is also available in round, and the shaft can be smooth or fluted, that is, grooved.

The capitals are available in all three styles: Doric, simpler and essential; Ionic, refined and elegant; Corinthian, rich in floral decorative elements.

Our plaster columns are totally customisable also regarding finishes: from simple painting, to spatula effects, to faux marble.
