Plaster Corinthian Column

Greek Art

Measurements: 45 X 45 X 112H cm
Code: IG C530

A faithful plaster reproduction of a Corinthian order column. Unlike the other two styles, Doric and Ionic, the Corinthian capital is composed of a more intricate vegetal design. It retains the volutes of the Ionic style and adds elongated acanthus leaves to the decoration, a wild plant that grows in uncultivated lands. The leaves of this plant adorned the garments of important figures, which is why we find them at the entrance of many significant political and important buildings in ancient Greece.
