Greek Art

Measurements: 45 X 51H cm
Code: IG-1302

Known as Venus de Milo or Aphrodite de Milo, it is one of the most famous Greek statues that have come down to us. The original marble statue from which this bust is derived dates back to 130 BC and is believed to have been created by Alexander of Antioch. Venus de Milo is named so because it was discovered in 1820 on the island of Milos in Greece and subsequently acquired by the French. King Louis XVIII placed it in the Louvre Museum in Paris, where it remains to this day.
