Plaster Shelves or Capitals
Plaster shelves or capitals are architectural elements often necessary to provide the visual sense of support for arches and architraves that would otherwise appear suspended in mid-air. The shelves can come in various sizes and styles.
Due to their characteristics, they are very versatile. For example, when used on a wall with a support shelf, they can create an original suspended console, or with the use of multiple shelves, a bookcase.
Plaster shelves are produced by casting into special silicone rubber moulds and are reinforced with vegetable hemp to make the pieces more durable. Subsequently, the plaster piece is deburred and sanded.
Pilasters, compared to columns, have the characteristic of always being positioned on the wall, giving a vertical emphasis to the room. They can be like columns with smooth or fluted shafts. Pilasters can be repeated in a series if you want to divide spaces; often paired with columns, they are fundamental architectural elements for a scenographic environment.
Shelves and pilasters can be customised with any type of finish. All production is carried out and entirely controlled in Italy using high-quality plaster. Plaster is a mineral found in nature and is therefore 100% ecological.
Plaster shelves, like all decorative plasterwork, can give space to your imagination to create pleasant and exclusive interiors that reflect your personal tastes.
